We seek to know what lies behind the things we fall in love with: the imagination that conceived them, the materials that give them character, the knowledge in the hands that make them and the stories that brought them into being.

Over the years, that search has taken us to makers and design houses with very different stories to tell. Some draw on traditions refined over generations; others explore new materials, techniques and ways of making; some do both. We represent a distinctive portfolio of international design houses in the UAE, introducing their work to designers, architects and clients looking for something beyond the familiar.

Working closely with different makers, materials and techniques has influenced the way we create. It has taught us what can be achieved, what can be reinterpreted and how it can be applied.

Our own design capabilities have grown from this exchange, allowing us to develop bespoke objects and gifting concepts shaped around a particular client, occasion and purpose.

Meet the Founder

Hello, I'm Mihaela.

I have spent most of my professional life somewhere between brands, people and ideas. My background in marketing and corporate communications taught me to understand how brands are meant to work. Years of exposure to luxury hospitality and an international world sharpened my understanding of people, context and the many different ways we perceive value.

Bespoke Selections brought another education altogether. Working closely with designers, makers and craftspeople has taught me about materials, techniques and how unusual ideas can be achieved creatively, practically and commercially.

Today, I move between representing design houses I believe in and developing bespoke concepts for clients looking for something particular to them. Both require much the same thing: understanding the brand, understanding the people and especially knowing when to listen.

I am still learning. I hope I always will.
